Dr. Gordon
Dryden,
grew up in rural New Zealand where every farm boy had to know the basics of agriculture and self-reliance, plus all the school subjects. Gordon started his professional life as a reporter at age 17 in Fiji and soon became “sports mad” New Zealand’s top sports broadcaster.  He moved up to become New Zealand Television’s “prime time” news anchor where he interviewed some of the most important people in the world, including becoming a good friend of one the world’s greatest coaches, Arthur Lydiard.  When he retired from television, the network gave Gordon a grant to travel the world to study and video tape the most advanced educational systems he could find.  The results are a television series, several radio interviews and one of the largest selling books in the world, The Learning Revolution. Gordon was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Arizona.  Gordon, along with other distinguished sports personalities, will keynote our Third International Children’s Athletics Trials, August 22 - 29, 2010.
